A candidate is struggling to sign in

If a candidate has already signed up to the platform, they will need to use the “sign in” function. They need to use their ID to sign in, this is the code that was sent to them via email when they first signed up and will look something like this UID123456, as well as their chosen password. If they are still struggling they can try recovering their log in details by selecting the 'Forgotten Password' option on the sign-in page.

Alternatively, you can provide candidates with their personal login URL, which will take them directly into their assessment portal with no need to enter any login details. This can be done by:

  • Searching for the candidate on the Candidates Tab on the Clevry Platform
  • Selecting the candidate and clicking 'Login URL' from the right hand pop up menu
  • Email the full URL link to the candidate

If a candidate has already completed all of the assessments on their log in, their account will have been suspended and they will now be unable to sign back in. This means that if they are invited to complete further assessments in the future they will be able to sign up again as a new user using the same email address.

A candidate had technical problems whilst sitting an assessment - can they sit it again?

The Clevry system will recognise if there has been a technical issue during a timed assessment. It will then give the candidate the option of requesting a test reset.

The first time a candidate requests a test reset, the assessment will be reset automatically and without need for action from us or an administrator.

The candidate will receive an email informing them that their assessment has been reset. It is normal for there to be a short delay between the reset request and the processing of the reset. Any subsequent requests will require manual resetting of the assessment.

On occasions where a candidate has requested a second reset, you will be notified of this via email, along with their reason for the request. You can use this information to inform your decision on whether to reset them. To reset a respondent for a second time, find them on the “Candidates” tab and use the “Reset” option.

There is no charge for respondents completing the assessments a second time due to being reset.

How can candidates find out the time allowance for assessment(s)?

Once you click the assessment link, you will be presented with an instruction page which will state clearly the time limit for the test and the total number of questions. From the instructions page, you can use the ‘Suspend’ function if you wish to complete the assessment at another time. It is only once you click the ‘Start test’ button that the test timer will begin.

Also note that personality questionnaires do not have a time limit. These can even be completed across multiple sittings. Though, we advise that you do not overthink your responses.

Can candidates use a calculator?

Calculators are allowed to help with working out for any numerical assessments, unless the assessment instructions state otherwise.

Are candidates able to review their answers during the assessment?

Candidates are able to amend their answers whilst on the same page, but once they have proceeded, they will be unable to go back to any previous pages within the assessment journey. Thus, the system requires that candidates complete all of the questions on the page before moving on.

A respondent has forgotten their login details, what can they do?

From the “Sign in” page on the My.Clevry home page, candidates should click “Forgotten your username or password?” and this page will tell them what to do to regain access to their account. They will need to know at least the email they signed up with to regain access.

Can candidates log back into Clevry once they have completed their assessments?

Candidates are unable to log back into the platform using their ID and password after they have completed all the assessments associated with that ID.

How can a candidate amend the personal details saved on their Clevry account?

Within your Clevry account, you can amend your registration details by clicking ‘update details’ at the top of the page, which will take you to a form where you can input your information. This includes changing your password.

If the candidate has already completed all of the assessments on their account and signed out of the platform their account will be suspended and they will no longer be able to edit their personal details.

I have a candidate who needs to complete multiple campaigns, how do they sign up to more than one?

Once a candidate has completed the first campaign, they can sign up to a second either using a quick link sent by you or by clicking “sign up” on the My.Clevry home page and entering a campaign code.

Candidates are able to sign up using the same email and password for both campaigns if they wish.

A candidate is asking if marks are taken off for wrong answers

You should tell candidates that you cannot reveal information about how the test is scored. This is because a candidate must have the same standardised set of test conditions as anyone else taking the test.

Revealing how the test is to be scored may affect the way in which a candidate approaches the test. You can remind candidates that if they are unsure of an answer, to give their best response but to avoid simply guessing.

A candidate is asking if there is a pass mark

You must reply that you are unable to inform candidates about how the test is scored.

You should remind the candidates that the results of the test are just one part of the selection process, so it is important that they try to relax and do their best.

My candidate is requesting some feedback, what can I offer them?

You can share their Personal Feedback Report with them, which will offer strengths and development advice based on their personality profile. This is candidate friendly in that it is written in second person narrative ('you') and the language is soft and constructive.

Unless you have had training in feeding back the results of psychometric assessments and are comfortable doing so, we would not advise that you conduct a feedback discussion as it could be misinterpreted or perceived negatively without adequate training. Your designated Business Psychologist can advise and support you if you wish to provide feedback to a candidate verbally.

A candidate is requesting extra time due to a disability, e.g., dyslexia

To increase the test timer, find the candidate on the “Candidates” tab and click Test Timer from the sub menu. You will now be able to specify the new time limit for the test in the Adjusted time limit (minutes) field – remember to enter the total new time limit rather than the number of minutes you wish to increase the test by.

If you do wish to make an adjustment to the test timer, we suggest you ask a candidate how much additional time they require. Many candidates request a 25% time increase, but it is best to ask. Contact Clevry for further advice on adjusting test timers.

A candidate has technical issues, what do I do?

Usually technical issues can be resolved by resetting the candidate. To reset a candidate go to the “Candidates” tab, and select the candidate you would like to reset.

Next, select “reset” from the sub menu that pops up. You can then choose which assessments you would like to reset. When you have done this an email will be sent to the candidate notifying them that their assessment has been reset and is ready to be completed.

Make sure to advise the candidate to click on the 'browser compatibility' feature within their assessment portal, as this will highlight whether there may be problems with the web browser they are using to complete the assessments.

We also urge the candidate to double-check their internet connectivity before undertaking the assessment. If the candidate is still experiencing issues, advise the candidate to clear the 'cache' within the web browser history, and also try a different browser, or device entirely, to complete the assessments.
