Finnish Norm Group Information

This article describes the technical properties of our Finnish norm groups such as their size, context, and job level.

All tests on our assessment platform, Clevry, are norm-referenced. This means that a candidate's score on a test is compared with a large representative group of people who have taken that test before - this group is referred to as the “comparison group” or “norm group”.

Clevry allows you to choose which comparison group you would like to use for each of your
assessments. We have general composite norm groups available for all assessments (detailed in this document), along with some sector specific ones. We can also offer bespoke comparison
groups for those organisations with larger volumes of candidates (150+) who would like to use
their own internal benchmarks. Please get in touch with a member of the team for more
information about this.

The system then uses this comparison from norm groups to convert raw test scores into a Sten score ranging from 1-10. Each of our reports provide full guidance on how to interpret these scores, but please do not hesitate to get in touch should you have any questions.

 

We review our norm groups regularly to ensure they are up to date, following best practice guidelines from the British Psychological Society and the European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations. Norm groups updated within the last 10 years are considered to be of Excellent standard, and at Clevry we are proud to uphold such standards.

 

Listed below are the technical properties of each of our general composite norm groups:

 

Clevry Personality Questionnaires

 

Normiryhmä, Suomalainen (2023)

This sample is comprised of a diverse group of between 219 - 5,144* individuals who completed
Criterion Personality Questionnaires in Finnish between 2020 and 2023.

These individuals completed this assessment as part of recruitment and development processes for a range of roles including: data engineer, manager, training specialist, legal expert, network engineer, office manager, production designer, customer advisor, recruitment consultant, sales manager, business director, retail manager and more.

These individuals represent a wide range of industry sectors including: IT, recruitment, human resources, telecommunications, shipping, marketing, finance and more.

 

Normiryhmä, Kansainvälinen (2023)

This sample comprises of a diverse group of between 355 – 22,074* individuals who completed Criterion Personality Questionnaires in English, for organisations based across the world, between 2021 and 2022. 

These individuals completed this assessment as part of recruitment and development processes for a range of roles including financial analyst, bid manager, call centre agent, clinical psychologist, data scientist, graphic designer, microbiologist, childcare provider, software developer, supply chain analyst, property manager, business analyst, sales manager, human resources manager, chief financial officer, doctor, graphic designer, marketing manager, quantum engineer and more. 

These individuals represent a wide range of industry sectors including IT, manufacturing, retail, health care, human resources, finance, technology, energy services, law, private equity, security, marketing, wholesale, telecommunications, education, leisure and more. 

 

*Note: Due to the flexible nature of the Clevry Personality Questionnaires, the comparison group is comprised of individuals who have completed a range of different questionnaires, meaning comparisons are made by looking at the distribution of scores at the scale level. This means that reported characteristics of the comparison group reflect the range across all 46 scales that make up the CPQ library

 

 

Numerical Reasoning

 

Utopia (Korkea Taso), Numeerinen, Suomenkielinen Normiryhmä (2023)

This sample consists of a diverse group of 266 individuals who completed the Expert Numerical Reasoning Test in Finnish between 2017 and 2021.

These individuals completed this assessment as part of recruitment processes for a range of occupations including accounting specialist, data engineer, finance manager, head of sales, development manager, business controller, and CFO.

These individuals represent various industries including sales, finance, manufacturing, and human resources.

 

B2C (Keskitaso), Numeerinen, Suomenkielinen Normiryhmä (2023) 

This sample consists of a diverse group of 1,648 individuals who completed the Enhanced Numerical Reasoning test in Finnish in 2022.

These individuals completed this assessment as part of recruitment processes for a range of occupations including account manager, business director, data scientist, engineer, ICT specialist, sales executive, software developer, and recruitment manager.

These individuals represent various industries including engineering, finance, retail, and consultancy. 

 

Rekrytointialan Numeerinen Päättelykyky, Suomalainen Normiryhmä (2023) 

This sample consists of a diverse group of 162 individuals who completed the Recruitment Level Numerical Reasoning test in Finnish between 2018 and 2022.

These individuals represent the recruitment industry. 

 

 

Verbal Reasoning

 

B2C (Keskitaso), Verbaalinen, Suomenkielinen Normiryhmä (2023)

This sample consists of a diverse group of 2,227 individuals who completed the Enhanced (B2C) Verbal Reasoning test in Finnish in 2022.

These individuals completed this assessment as part of recruitment processes for a range of occupations including account manager, CFO, data scientist, finance manager, HR specialist, ICT manager, and mechanical engineer.

These individuals represent various industries including IT, care, finance, hospitality, and human resources. 

 

Utopia (Korkea Taso), Verbaalinen, Suomenkielinen Normiryhmä (2023) 

This sample consists of a diverse group of 206 individuals who completed the Expert (Utopia) Verbal Reasoning test in Finnish between 2018 and 2022.

These individuals completed this assessment as part of recruitment processes for a range of occupations including customer success specialist, head of sales, product manager, technical specialist, and project manager.

These individuals represent various industries including hospitality, manufacturing, consultancy, recruitment, and transport. 

 

 

Abstract Reasoning

 

B2C (Keskitaso), Abstrakti Suomalainen Normiyhmä (2023)

This sample consists of a diverse group of 2,058 individuals who completed the B2C abstract reasoning test in Finnish in 2022.

These individuals completed this assessment as part of recruitment processes for a range of occupations including business director, data engineer, ICT manager, marketing manager, project manager, sales associate, and quality director.

These individuals represent a range of industry sectors including recruitment, finance, energy, care, and consultancy. 

 

 

Mechanical Reasoning

 

CWS (Perustaso), Mekaaninen, Normiryhmä (2023) 

This sample consists of a diverse group of 384 individuals who completed the CWS mechanical reasoning test in Finnish between 2021 and 2022.

These individuals completed this assessment as part of recruitment processes for a range of occupations including mechanical designer, maintenance technician, front-end developer, production designer, operations trainee, engineer, production manager and more. 

These individuals represent a range of industry sectors including manufacturing, technology, management and more.
